Special Features: Carnegie Place is a tangible example of how a community can maintain historic buildings and resolve affordable housing needs within the same project. This particular project has won several state awards including "Iowa's Best Adaptive Re-Use Award" and "Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation". In addition, the National Park Service featured Carnegie Place in a series entitled: "Case Studies in Affordable Housing Through Preservation".
